Thomas H. Sinton, Chairman
Mr. Sinton has 30 years experience as a business innovator and leader, and is currently President and Chief Executive of Perquest. He founded ProBusiness Services, Inc., in 1986 and served as its CEO until 2003, when ADP purchased it for $500 million. ProBusiness went public in 1997 and achieved annual revenues of $170 million at the time of its acquisition. Tom served on Boards at SmartTime Software, Inc., Savista Corporation and on the Advisory Board of Baird Capital Partners, He holds a B.A. in English from Harvard College, an M.S. in Food Science from the University of California, Davis, an M.B.A. from Stanford University and was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Vienna.
Ekkehart Hassels-Weiler, Director
Mr. Hassels-Weiler is President of Eagle Global Advisors, Inc., a private investment firm with offices in New York and Los Angeles, specializing in investments in the U.S. and abroad, including - private equity and venture capital. Before founding Eagle Global Advisors in 1996, Ekkehart was a partner in the law firm of Graham & James, in New York. He holds an LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall, and a Ph.D. in constitutional law from Bonn University in Germany. He was a director of SKYVA, a software firm in Cambridge, MA, until it was sold to ABB in 2000, and Therion Biologics Corp., a biotechnology company in Cambridge, MA.
John L. Steffens, Director
Mr. Steffens is the founder and Managing Director of Spring Mountain Capital, LP, an alternative investment firm. Prior to establishing Spring Mountain Capital, Launny spent 38 years at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., where he held numerous senior management positions, including President of Merrill Lynch Consumer Markets (which was later named the Private Client Group) for 12 years, and was both Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. (the parent company) and Chairman of its U.S. Private Client Group for five years. During his leadership of the Private Client Group, client assets rose from $189 billion to approximately $1.6 trillion. Launny served on the Board of Directors of Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. for 15 years. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Merrill Lynch Ventures, LLC a $1.8 billion private equity fund for key employees. He has served as Chairman of the Securities Industry Association and as a Trustee of the Committee for Economic Development. He is currently National Chairman Emeritus of the Alliance for Aging Research, and serves on the Advisory Board of StarVest Partners, L.P., the Advisory Board of Wicks Communications & Media Partners, L.P., the Board of Directors of HealthPoint Capital, and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cicero Inc. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1963 with a B.A. degree in Economics. He also attended the Advanced Management Program of the Harvard Business School in 1979.
Deborah A. Farrington, Director
Founder and Co-Chairman of StarVest Partners, L.P., Ms. Farrington has more than 25 years of experience in venture capital, private equity investing and investment banking. She founded and has been Co-Chairman since 1998 at StarVest Partners, L.P., a New York City-based venture capital firm that invests in information technology. Prior to founding StarVest, Debby was President and Chief Executive for five years of Victory Ventures, a New York-based private equity firm that invested in business services and consumer companies, and was Chairman of the Board of a major staffing services company. She has also been the Managing Director of a Hong Kong-based merchant bank that invested with Asian entrepreneurs, and served as Director and COO of its NASDAQ-listed affiliate. She started her career at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., where, after more than 11 years with the firm, she had assignments in investment banking, management and securities analysis, while based in New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo. Debby is a graduate of Smith College in Massachusetts and has an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. In addition to Perquest, Debby is on the Boards of NetSuite, ComparisonMarket, Fieldglass, Inc. and Collectors Universe, Inc., a NASDAQ listed public company.
